The Office of Pupil Personnel Service provides support services ESL students whose needs and progress are tracked by the department. English as a Second Language (ESL) is offered on both the elementary and secondary levels. ESL students are placed in classes based on the scores they attain on the Language Assessment Battery. The intensity and frequency of the services are dependent on each student’s needs and abilities. The amount of time each student is programmed for ESL instruction is mandated by New York State Law. The district has one full time and one part time ESL teacher. The teachers work closely with the students, each student’s teachers, and each other.
