Today is Wednesday October 27th, 2010.  It is a D day.

 

  • The Gym is open today for Grade 8 and the Tech Room is open for Grade 7 .

 

  • Music lessons for today are: Trumpet 6– Period 1; Trombone 6 – Period 6; Tenor Sax 6 – Period 7 and Alto Saxes 8 – Period 2
  • 7th Grade Chorus Students: Please consult the vocal lesson schedule for this week and see Ms. Carey if you need a pass.  The schedule is posted outside the Library and the LGI.
  • The Selective Classification test for any student wishing to try out for a J.V. or varsity team this winter will be held on Tuesday, November 2nd at 2:40 in the High School gym.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Spano or Mrs. Callaci.
  • There will be a meeting in the Commons at 3:15 for all girls trying out for Freshman J.V. and Varsity Basketball.
  • The Rye Rec Dept. has planned a Dodge Ball Tournament scheduled for Friday, November 19th, from 6:30 to 9:00 pm at the RSS New Gym.  For more information, please pick up a flyer and form in the Middle School Main office.
  • Please support the local Port Chester/ Rye Brook Soup Kitchen by bringing in cans of CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP.  Your social studies teacher will be collecting the cans of soup from now until Thanksgiving.  Any student who brings in 10 cans or more will be invited to a special pizza party to take place during a future Activity Period.
  • The New York State Education Department, in collaboration with the New York State Office of General Services, is pleased to announce the 11th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Fine Arts and Essay Display.  All New York State schools are invited to submit student artwork and essays based on Dr. King's Six Principles of Nonviolence for a celebration of his birthday in January of 2011.  The categories for student entries include writing, painting, drawing, sculpting and photography. 

    All entries must be postmarked no later than Monday, December 6, 2010, and will be placed on display for viewing in the Empire State Plaza one week prior to the celebration of the King Holiday, on Monday, January 17, 2011 in Albany, New York.
