Joseph Rodriguez Interim Principal Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street School

Dear Parents,

I am writing to introduce myself and say hello as the newly appointed interim principal of the Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street School.  Having worked in Westchester for the past eighteen years, I am well aware of the rich history and strong commitment to education of the Blind Brook School District.  An equally important characteristic which has quickly become evident to me is a true sense of warmth and caring that permeates the school.  In the brief amount of time I have been here, everyone has been most gracious and welcoming.

The next several months will be a time of intensive learning for me.  I will devote myself to understanding the educational programs and organizational systems of the school and district.  Most importantly, I look forward to getting to know the children and adults of the Ridge Street School Community, as they are its most valuable resource. I also hope to be able to make a contribution using my experience as an administrator and a teacher. While I believe in hard work and take my job seriously, I also derive great joy from what I do and I consider myself very fortunate to have chosen this career path.

Teaching and learning is multi-faceted and complex. There is no simple, “one size fits all” approach that will meet the needs of all children. We need your help and support to ensure the most effective educational program possible.  

I am truly excited to join the Ridge Street community and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to meet each of you. Enjoy the remainder of the summer.
