    A note about birthday treats:

We are trying to move towards a healthy way of life and are open to birthday treats that are not necessarily brownies, cookies, or cupcakes.  Some families are being creative and are making small yogurt snacks, fruit kabobs, or rice krispie treats!  The tradition of bringing small cupcakes to school is still popular.

Before you order cupcakes, bake cupcakes, buy baked goods, or make ANY birthday treat for a birthday celebration in school we ask that all items are brought to the school nurse so the ingredients can be checked.  We want to make sure that all of our students are safe before food is brought into the schooo.  (As an aside, you might want to contact the nurse before going ahead with any baking or purchasing any items.)  Please contact the school nurse before planning certain treats as there are many students who are unable to sonsume these items due to allergies or other health conditions. All items approved by the nurse will receive a "Nurse Approved" sticker.

If you have any questions, please contact our school nurse, Mrs. Kalish, at 914-937-3600 x3050 or email her at hkalish@blindbrook.org
