Dear Members of the Blind Brook School Community:
Registered voters may vote in-person on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 between the hours of 7:00 am and 9:00 pm in the Old Gym at the Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street School, 390 North Ridge St., Rye Brook, NY.
Am I a Qualified Voter?
A qualified voter must be 18 years old by the day of the vote, a citizen of the United States and a resident within the Blind Brook-Rye School District for 30 days immediately preceding the vote, and not otherwise prohibited from voting.
Am I Registered to Vote?
Register through New York State Board of Elections. Individuals, 16 years or older may pre-register which will automatically become active on their 18th birthday.

Register to Vote *for school district elections only* with the District Clerk, any school business day, on or before May 15, 2025 between the hours of 8:30 am and 3:30 pm at the District Clerk’s office, located at Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street School, 390 North Ridge Street, Rye Brook, NY.
Evening Registration *for school election only* will take place on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, by appointment only; vgroccia@blindbrook.org, 914-937-3600 x1001.
How can I vote by mail?
Any registered, qualified voter may vote by mail in one of two ways.
To vote by mail, you must first submit an application for either an Absentee Ballot or the new Early Mail Voter Ballot. Applications cannot be submitted before April 21, 2025.
Early Mail Voting Application, Spanish version – no qualifying reason needed.
Absentee Voting Application, Spanish version – requires a qualifying reason.
Application must be printed, ink signed by the voter and returned either in person or by mail to the office of the District Clerk (application cannot be submitted via email):

Application must be received by 2:00 PM on May 13, 2025 if the ballot will be mailed or by 4:00 PM on Monday, May 19, 2024 if ballot will be hand delivered.

When/Where do I return Early Mail Voter/Absentee Ballots?
Ballots must be returned by 5:00 PM on May 20, 2025 to the District Office, 390 North Ridge Street, Rye Brook, NY. They will be secured until the polls officially close at 9:00 PM and will then be canvassed with the other votes.

Information
Dear Candidate,
Enclosed is the Nominating Petition for the office of Trustee of the Board of Education of the Blind Brook-Rye Union Free School District. The 2025 election will be held on May 20, 2025.
Petition must have a minimum of 25 qualified voters’ signatures and be returned 30 days before the election, by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025.
Qualifications for membership on a school board are:
- Must be able to read and write.
- Must be a qualified voter of the District.
- Must be a resident of the district for an uninterrupted period of at least one year immediately before the election.
- May not have been removed from any school district office within the preceding year.
- Must be the only member of their family serving on the District school board.
- May not be a current employee of the district.
- May not simultaneously hold another incompatible public office.
Position on the ballot will be established by lottery on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 10:00 am. If you cannot be present in person or represented by a person designated in a written proxy the District Clerk is authorized to act as proxy and candidate(s) will be notified of the results.

Expense Reports
Campaign expenditure and contribution form must be completed, signed, notarized and filed with the District Clerk of the Blind Brook-Rye Union Free School District, 390 North Ridge Street, Rye Brook, New York.
If total expenditures, including those incurred by others on your behalf, with your approval, exceed $500 or the aggregate amount of contributions to your campaign exceed $500, this statement must also be filed with the Commissioner of Education, NYS Education Department, State Education Building, 89 Washington Avenue, Albany, New York 12234.
