FACILITIES USE & RENTAL

Facility use is open to resident and non-resident organizations engaged in worthwhile educational, civic or non-profit activities. Conditions for use are outlined in School Board Policy 5631 – Community Use of School Facilities – Conditions and Fees.

Hours

School facilities may be reserved Monday - Friday from 3:30 pm to 9:30 pm and weekends from 8:00 am – 10:00 pm. These times are based on availability and exclude observed District holidays.

Insurance Requirements

All organizations must upload proof of insurance that meets the District requirements in order for an event to be approved.

In addition, you must agree to the Hold Harmless agreement within Master Library.

Minimum Required Insurance:

Commercial General Liability Insurance $1,000,000 per Occurrence/ $2,000,000 Aggregate, with no exclusions for Athletic Participants
$100,000 Fire Damage
$10,000 Medical Expense
$1,000,000 Personal and Advertising Injury
$2,000,000 Products and Completed Operations

Automobile Liability (When an organization’s vehicle is brought onsite) $1,000,000 combined single limit for owned, hired, borrowed and non-owned motor vehicles.

Workers' Compensation and NYS Disability Insurance (For Organizations With Employees) Statutory Workers' Compensation (C-105.2 or U-26.3); and NYS Disability Insurance (DB120.1) for all employees. Proof of coverage must be on the approved specific form, as required by the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board. A person seeking an exemption must file a CE-200 Form with the state. Umbrella/Excess Insurance General Use Umbrella/Excess coverage shall be on a follow-form basis or provide broader coverage over the required General Liability coverages.
General: $1 million each Occurrence and Aggregate.
Organized Athletic Leagues $3 million each Occurrence and Aggregate.
Athletic/Recreational Camps $5 million each Occurrence and Aggregate.

What's Included

Priority of Requests

School facilities will be available to school, community non-profit and profit groups in accordance with the following priorities. The Superintendent of Schools will determine the priority category in which an organization applying for facilities use will be placed.

A. School sponsored activities, such as club meetings, team practices and games, theatrical and musical rehearsals and performances, School Board meetings, and any such similar school meeting.

B. School related activities or activities directly in support of the schools and their programs, such as PTA meetings and activities as well as meetings and and activities of the Friends of Blind Brook, and Boy and Girl Scout activities that occur during times when school buildings are normally open.

C. Rye Brook Recreation Department activities.

D. Entities which have entered into long-term facilities use agreements with the District.

E. Activities of other community and civic organizations which serve at least 75% Blind Brook School District residents. A roster of participants listing names and addresses must be submitted with the facilities use application.

F. Activities of other non-resident community, civic non-profit and profit organizations.

G. This includes casual small numbers of K-12 student or Blind Brook resident use of outdoor facilities at times when school is not in session. Students or residents must possess their school ID or some other valid means of identification in case asked to identify themselves to a school authority or Rye Brook police officer.

All approved users of Blind Brook facilities must make full payment for reserved dates prior to the first day of use.

Please make your check payable to the Blind Brook-Rye UFSD and either drop it off in the Business Office or mail it to the District Office, 390 North Ridge Street, Rye Brook, NY 10573.

Personnel Services: Monitor & Custodial Staff are required to be present during rental period

Custodian/Monitor - Weekdays: $50 per hour (If OT required, default to Saturday Rate)
Custodian/Monitor - Saturdays: $75 per hour (minimum 3-hour charge)
Custodian/Monitor - Sundays and Holidays: $100 per hour (minimum 3-hour charge)

NOTE: In order to be billed at the resident rate, you must have provided the District with a current roster and 75% of that roster must be District residents.
