Special Education
The Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires states to identify, locate, and evaluate all children with disabilities, aged birth to 21, who are in need of early intervention or special education services. The Office of Pupil Services facilitates this identification process in conjunction with the regular education program and provides support services to students classified by the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) and the Committee on Special Education (CSE). Identified students are provided with supports and services as mandated by their Individual Education Programs (IEP) in the least restrictive environment (LRE) as regulated by federal and state laws.
