Superintendent's Message

Dear Members of the Blind Brook Community,

We are back for another school year! It is so exciting to have the students back in the buildings! There is a happiness and optimism pervading our buildings that anticipates a great year.

Last week during the Superintendent’s Conference Days I introduced the theme of meeting the needs of all students. We have children in our district with a wide range of abilities, skills, knowledge and development. The work that we will be doing this year will focus on providing all our students with the tools that they need to move forward from where they are. Our faculty and staff have prepared this summer, especially over the last few weeks, to meet this challenge. You will hear more about the specific District goals when I present them at the September 17th Board of Education meeting.

A great way to support our students is ensuring the state of our facilities. At Wednesday night’s Board meeting the final number for the proposed bond was presented. You can view the presentation slides here. If you have any questions, you are welcome to reach out to me or to the Board of Education. I encourage everyone to be fully informed about the proposed bond and to come out on October 22nd and vote. 

Communication is another important component of being able to effectively meet our students’ needs. I, and everyone in the District, will be working on making sure that we are communicating effectively and efficiently. To help with this, I am sharing out the District’s communication protocols with everyone. They are a good reminder as to what the best approach to contacting District employees is. 

Today was a fantastic kick-off to our school year! There is a great deal of promise for the 2024-2025 school year. I wish you all the best and look forward to celebrating all our students with you this year!
