Superintendent's Message

Dear Families and Friends of Blind Brook,

I hope this message finds you well, enjoying the sounds and scenes of summer. Things have been busy here on campus and we wanted to give an update on several items before our annual “Back to School” letters.

Phase 3 of 4 of the Bond project is in full swing. Cosmetic upgrades to the Blind Brook MS and HS bathrooms are coming along, and a modern redesign of HS Art and MS Technology suites is underway. We recently added pictures to the bond project progress tracker site so that you can join us in celebrating the many improvements you approved in 2024.

We are pleased to report that Moody’s Investors Service recently upgraded the District's credit rating to Aa1 from Aa2. With conservative budgeting practices, funding reserves, enrollment stabilization and our responsible approach to tax certioraris, Moody’s elevated our status to this elite tier of creditworthiness, validating our financial practices and positioning us well for our upcoming bond sale.

As you may have noticed in recent communications from Rye Brook Village, the district has been partnering with Village leadership to improve traffic safety on and in proximity to both campuses. While we do have established drop-off and pick-up procedures and traffic patterns, we will be making some improvements this fall. Stay tuned for more information and instructions.

As we are at the peak of summer, it is a great time to share with you Water Safety Reminders in compliance with the recently passed Education Law §926. Passed on July 1, 2026, Water Safety Information Law requires school districts in NY to distribute information regarding drowning prevention, water safety, and safe and healthy swimming.

Our administrative, custodial, and clerical teams are actively preparing for the return of our students. We look forward to continuing the implementation of our Strategic Plan of Action, which focuses on deeper learning and maximizing opportunities for students to engage in authentic learning tasks and performance-based exhibitions of their learning. The Blind Brook tradition of excellence and innovation continues to grow!
