With regard to the release of student information, unless an objection is submitted in writing by the parents or legal guardians, or by students over 18, the Blind Brook School District gives notice of intent to provide, release, and/or publish in the district newsletter, newspapers, other publications, and the website, information that is appropriate in connection with school achievements, programs, music productions, athletic events, etc.
Student information that the District will release may include the following:
Date of birth
Participation in officially recognized activities and sports
Weight and height (if members of athletic teams)
Dates of attendance
Honors, degrees and awards received
Name of the educational agency or institution most recently previously attended by the student
Under Title 45, US Code, Part 99, Rights of Parents and Students, parents who do not desire release of above information to the public must make specific requests in writing to the Blind Brook School District. Requests should be sent to Colin Byrne at email@example.com and should include the specific types of student information not to be released.
