Second Grade Students Host Mornings At The Museum

The classrooms of the second grade students at the Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street School turned into museums during the week of June 3rd! Each class took part in a Morning At The Museum, an event where parents of second grade students were invited to come in to see the work that the children had done on researching a specific country. Each child had selected a country to investigate and created a research book with interesting facts about that country. Students also created an exhibit for that country at their desks which contained their book, notable landforms of the country that the students created and other artifacts representing their country. At the opening of the museum time, each class gave an introduction to the day, explained the process of how they did their research and performed a song that they worked on with Music Teacher Mr. DiMiceli. The students then manned their exhibit and answered questions about their country. All adults were amazed with the quality of the exhibits and the knowledge of the students! The second grade teachers, which include Mrs. Tagliaferri, Mrs. Handsman, Mrs. Krouskoff, Mrs. Stevens and Mrs. Fagan, as well as teacher aides and other teachers are to be congratulated for creating such an engaging and informative learning experience for these children!
