BMPRSS Start Date UPDATE

Dear Blind Brook Families,

I hope you are enjoying your summer, and I want you to know that there is much excitement for the 2021-2022 school year.

There will be a slight delay to our September opening at the Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street School (BMPRSS) campus because of ongoing construction.

School was scheduled to begin on Thursday, September 9th.  As announced during Tuesday night’s Board of Education meeting, students at BMPRSS will begin classes on Monday, September 13th.

The additional time at the beginning of the school year will allow our custodians, teachers, staff, and administrators to fully prepare classrooms for learning and get our campus completely ready for our students.

We are also very pleased that the Blind Brook PTA is working with our administrators on a special program for our elementary students to take place on Thursday, September 9th and Friday, September 10th.

This will assist our BMPRSS families who may be looking for childcare options.  Information will be communicated to families as soon as it becomes available.

Please note:  The start of school at the Blind Brook MS/HS remains the same. The delayed start at BMPRSS does not impact the start date at the MS/HS on September 9th.

The first day of school for all students at the Blind Brook Middle and High School is Thursday, September 9th.
The first day of school for all students at the Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street School is now Monday, September 13th.

Respectfully,

Dr. Patrick Brimstein
Superintendent of Schools, Blind Brook-Rye UFSD
